Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

I teach all over the Vermont, though home base is at: Creative Healing at Fitness Studio @ 518 Main Street, Lyndonville, VT.

When are classes?

Check the homepage for updates about times and locations.

Do I have to book in advance or can I just drop in?

We are not accepting drop-ins at this time.  Classes run in sessions.  This session is 13 weeks. Advanced payment & registration is required and can be found on the website www.magdalenemoves.com

Can I come this week?

Classes run in sessions.  Fall/Winter 2024 dates: September - December.

How do I register for classes?

Go to www.magdalenemoves.com , click Register here, choose the class, and check out.  A full-payment plan is required at the time of registration.

How much will it cost?

Updated pricing is reflected on the registration page based on number of weeks in the session.

Is there dedicated parking or easy street parking?

Each location has a sizable, well lit, parking lot with easy access to and from the building.

What do I wear? Do I have to show my belly?

Students DO NOT need to show their belly.  Dress to your comfort level.  Yoga pants are a good choice and a t-shirt.  It is helpful for your teacher to be able to see the lines of your body to give optimal feedback.  You may want to dress in layers especially in winter.  This will allow you to be comfortable as you warm up in class.

How long is the class?

Classes run from 50-60 minutes depending on the class.  This makes for a tight changeover between classes if they are running back to back.  If you are arriving, please come warmed up and quickly find a place so we can begin on time. If you are leaving, please quickly gather your things and exit the studio to make room for the next class.

What will I learn?

Beginner Bellydance students will begin exploration of music from MENAHT regions, genres, and time periods.  You will learn basic movement families and frameworks, play with improvisation, and learn simple combinations to various classical and modern music.

Do I need to bring water? What else should I remember to bring?

You are welcome to bring whatever makes you feel comfortable in a standard exercise class.  Water, hand towel, your own hip scarf, layers to dress in, etc. There is a water cooler for refills located in the hallway just outside the studio space.

Who can I call if I get lost?

Contact Magdalene. Facebook messenger is probably the fastest and easiest way to contact.  Messenger will be checked intermittently during class. https://www.facebook.com/magdalene.miller/

Can children register? Can I bring my kids?

At this time, classes are for ages 12+ with parent permission.  A children’s class may be considered at a future date, but there are many offerings for children and relatively few offerings for adult students. Magdalene would like to create a soothing and healing classroom atmosphere for those who need it.

Can I try a FREE class?
